In addition to raw sequence data, SRA now stores alignment information in the form of read placements on a reference sequence. The Trace Archive serves as the repository of sequencing data from gel/capillary platforms such as Applied Biosystems ABI 3730®. The Trace Assembly Archive stores pairwise alignment and multiple alignment of sequencing reads, linking basic trace data with finished genomic sequence as found in GenBank. |
