| Database descriptionDatabase descirption | This database collects mass spectra of plant tissues and microbial samples obtained in LC-, GC-, and CE-MS analyses, regardless of whether the metabolites were successfully identified. Using mass spectra of unidentified metabolites as chemical descriptors that indicate their chemical structure, it can be presumed that the same unidentified metabolites are present in different samples when the same or similar mass spectra are present. In this way, the existence of metabolites can be known even if those metabolites cannot be identified. Currently, Bio-MassBank contains data from Arabidopsis leaf (664 entries) and Lotus japonicus flower (636 entries) analyzed by LC-MS and MS2, respectively. |
